Kat Von D and Too Faced Collaboration // First Impressions

Heeey everyone, my final assignments for second year are all submitted, just one exam next week and then I'm finally free for Summer! I'm at that point in the semester where I could just sleep for a whole week.

So I actually didn't realise but when I was looking for some make up, Debenhams actually have a decent sale page, so naturally I picked up some bits I wouldn't usually pay full price for.

I've been keen to try the Kat Von D tattoo liquid liner for quite a while now, so when I saw this was on sale with the infamous Too Faced better than sex mascara from their recent collaboration, I had to pick it up. Currently, it's not on their offers page so the full price for this is £18, but I paid around £14 for it, which did seem quite pricey but I had high expectations.

There's 4.8g of the mascara and 0.2ml of the liquid liner, so you literally get the teeeeniest amount for that price. I didn't read how much you got before hand so when this arrived I was quite shocked at how little they were. Definitely in between travel and sample sizes.

Sooooo I tried them both out at the same time, this was my first time ever using both of these products but I've seen some amazing reviews so I was super excited.

Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara

Honestly, I wasn't blown away by this and definitely won't be purchasing it at full price. It's veeryyy clumpy and thick although didn't really do too much for my eyelashes. Yes, it made them thick and full but nothing that my drugstore mascaras don't do for a lot smaller price. The only positive thing which came out of this mascara is that it does stay on for a very long time, rather than getting flakey during the day but other than that it was pretty average.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Now, this is definitely a new holy grail of mine. I LOVE IT! The pigment is fantastic, and its so precise with a really good quality nib, so you can do a thin line, or make it buildable really easily. It stays on foreeeverrr (not literally, but you know what I mean!) When I was taking my make up off after a full day, I did have to put some extra effort to take this off. It doesn't go all dull and faded like some liquid liners do, it stays in place and stays well pigmented throughout the wear. 10/10 would recommend if you're looking to try something new, or if you're curious about it definitely give it a whirl.

So, in my opinion this collab was kind of pricey, especially this set considering how tiny the products are. But, I did end up absolutely loving the liner so to me, it was worth it just to discover this product. The packaging is super cute, and I love the embossed effect of the roses, I think that good packaging always makes me feel a bit more positive about the product because hey, at least they've made an effort.

Did you manage to pick up anything from this collaboration?! X

Jeffree Star Cosmetics // Skin Frost Highlighter Review

Hiya everyone! I hope you're all having a fab bank holiday. Don't you just love a fresh new highlighter?! My Beauty Bay order arrived on Saturday and I have never been so excited for new make up. I picked up this Jeffree Star skin frost highlighter and wanted to share my first impressions with you and to share my opinions.

I knoooow everybody either loves or hates Jeffree Star, this is my first time buying from this brand so I had no idea what to expect. I've seen amazing reviews, and I've seen bad reviews. I know in the past there's been a lot of controversy surrounding JS but on this occasion, I wanted to let the product speak for the brand.

So this cost me £25.50 from Beauty Bay, an official UK stockist for Jeffree's brand, and you get 15g of product in there. So a very good amount in my opinion. I love the bright packaging and it definitely feels weighty, not a cheap, tatty plastic at all. It's very sturdy and you would have to try very hard to break the compact mirror off.

It has all the brand information on the bottom and as you can see I bought this in the shade Ice Cold, just because I'm very pale, sometimes colours don't suit me and most of the time I'm just not in the mood for coloured highlights. I also love that it has this huge compact mirror inside it, a lovely addition because you could use this as a compact even when the product is finished.

Next up, let's talk about the product itself. I like to apply my highlighter with a fan brush, just because at first you get that subtle glow, but you can build it up then without it becoming too much. Ice Cold is a beaaautiful frosty highlighter. The pigment is amazing without a doubt, and it's buildable. So if you're like me and prefer a long lasting, subtle glow then this would be perfect.

I honestly just love the way this highlighter looks and feels. When it's on my skin it doesn't feel cakey or heavy, it just feels like my skin would feel without make up. I love that you can use this on your eyes too, as it looks beautiful in the corners just to make you look more awake. It doesn't have a huge amount of fall out of product either which is really good. You can easily build the coverage on this highlighter and it's so pigmented and beautiful.

I honestly love everything about this product and will definitely be investing in more of the Jeffree Star Cosmetics products in the future. I think next up on my wishlist is the skin frost highlight in Peach Goddess. I think this highlight is definitely worth the price, not only do you get the amazing quality packaging with the mirror, but you also get a tonne of pigmented, well formulated product.

Have you tried any of the Jeffree Star Cosmetics products?! Which ones did you love, or hate? X

Lush April Mini Haul // First Impressions

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii gorgeous people I hope you're all having a wonderful week. It's assignment hand in time for me so the next week or so is going to be so busy but after the 11th i'm free for Summer, YAY!

I've had a Lush gift card lingering around in my purse for a while so today I decided to go in and stock up on some old favourites and also some things which I've never tried before but look intriguing.

The best thing for me about Lush is the cruelty free aspect of it alongside their brilliant use of natural ingredients. I love the packaging and so far everything I've ever bought from there has brought me nothing but happiness (and cleanliness haha!)

Obviously I had to get a good size bottle of my favourite Olive Branch shower gel, I've used this before and it always leaves my skin so silky smooth and fresh. It smells like olive oil mixed with mandarins, really rich and beautiful.
£9.95/250g

The second thing I picked up was the dirty springwash. I loved the fresh spearmint smell to this and the Lush shower gels always leave me so refreshed and clean. I looove the blue colour to this as well, super pretty.
£9.95/250g

Next up is something I've never used and that's the 9 to 5 cleansing lotion. I'm always a bit dubious to try new skin care products because of my temperamental skin, but this doesn't have a huuge amount of ingredients and doesn't have a poignant smell so I thought I'd give it a try. It has a soft almond smell and I love that it's not some crazy colour either.
£5.25/95g

Then I picked up this tangled hot oil treatment which you mix with boiling water then it creates a cream that you leave on your hair. I thought it looked super cool and I'm always down to try new treatments because my hair is sooo thick and tangles so quickly.
£6.50/20g

I also got given this sample of another leave-in hair treatment called H'Suan Wen Hua which I'm super excited to try. It's supposed to leave your hair silky smooth and tangle free, just what I neeeeed! £9.75/225g

So I had a tiny sample of the ocean salt scrub and it smells sooo good. It's not too rough so perfect for using multiple times a week and it leaves your skin super refreshed and smooth. It has a really nice limey smell and of course I love the blue colouring in it. I like that it's soft enough to use as a face scrub because sometimes they're a bit too rough for your face.
£15.50/250g

The last thing I picked up is the lovely mask of magnaminity which is a minty mask supposed to target spots and cleanse the skin. It also has lots of natural ingredients in it and also honey for that soft, glowy skin. I have really wanted to try more face masks this year so I'm happy I've got my hands on this.
£11.50/315g

Let me know if you've bought any thing from Lush recently, do you love it or hate it?! X

My four MAC lipstick picks

Hello lovely people, I hope you all had an amaaazing Easter weekend - I actually got really sick last week so I'm recovering, but the fact that I am now fully stocked up on chocolate makes me feel much better.

I'm excited to get back into blogging now that I've almost finished my second year at uni (EEP!) Time goes sooo quickly - don't get me wrong I love my uni course but it's so stressful 99% of the time, hence why I love just being able to escape to my blogging. I'm looking to invest in a new camera and some lighting so that my picture quality is better, at the minute my camera is an old Sony Cyber-shot at a whopping 14.1 megapixels, haha! If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

So today I thought I'd do a little post on my four go-to MAC lipsticks, I know I mainly use cruelty free now but I didn't have the heart to bin all of my MAC lipsticks. When I first got a job at 16 I used to looove spending my monthly wage on MAC, and got such a buzz when those black pagages came through the door. The lipsticks were always my go-to so I've built up a little collection. MAC will always have a place in my heart as it's the brand which initially got me into make up.

I know MAC has a lot more variety in it's products now, but their iconic lipsticks are still to be treasured and not overlooked. And I know a lot of people don't like how pricey they are buuuuut you do get a huge amount of product and a very decent pigment in them.

Whirl

A beautiful, matte brown which is very buildable. I love this colour because it goes with most looks and looks great on my pale skin tone however I think it suits most skin tones as it could be as dark or as 'light' as you wanted it to be. As with most matte MAC lipsticks the coverage and longevity is amaaaazinng, so beautiful.

Creme d'Nude

Helloooooo gorgeous nude shade. I love that this colour is part of MAC's creme sheen collection as it gives it the ability to be mixed with other colours. I personally love mixing it with 'Morange' from MAC as it creates such a nice peachy colour. However, on it's own this is such a simple, lovely nude shade. I have suuuuch pale skin so this works well for me.

Up The Amp

Part of MAC's amplified creme collection, this purple shade is divine. The coverage is amazing although does need topping up throughout the day. On my pale skin this creates a lovely, dark purple shade perfect for that night time look without being too overbearing. It's also the perfect Autumn/Winter every day lipstick. The fact that it's not matte works well as it doesn't leave flaky, dry lips.

Dubonnet

Urgh this shade is to die for. It's the most beautiful dark red colour. I actually love the fact that this is part of the amplified creme range as it doesn't dry your lips out at all, making the colour look even better. This shade will work on whatever skin tone you have and is a great, all year round colour to have in your collection.

Let me know if you have any go-to MAC lipsticks and also any camera recommendations for blogging would be great!

Summer Casual

Summer Casual

Summer Casual

I am so excited for my Student Finance to come through so I can finally invest in some new clothes for Spring/Summer 2017. There are so many beautiful trends coming through which aren't just fad trends if that makes sense. Things like Gingham, the floral prints and coloured lens sunglasses are just so classic and urgh, beaaautiful.

Anyway, I am obsessed with this look I created on Polyvore, and that orange TIBI jumper, urgh stunning!! Obviously I am not going to be able to afford a £400 jumper but, I can still dream right!

I'm also dying to invest in a nice rucksack, this one from UO looks so durable and pretty. I just feel that rucksacks look so good without being too much, if that makes sense.

Anyway, it's a short and sweet one from me today but i'm so excited it's coming up to the holidays so, more blogging yay! Uni has definitely been a lot busier this year than I anticipated and don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but i'm excited for a break.

What have you guys been up to? Is there any trends you're loving at the minute?! X

Hello lovelies! I hope you're all having a great week so far. Whilst I was browsing Cult Beauty I realised there are SO many brands on there and more than often no mention of whether they were cruelty free or not in the description. I know there are lots of different ideas of what cruelty free actually is, but for me cruelty free is when something HASN'T been tested on animals.

So, I thought i'd research all the brands Cult Beauty stock on my own and see whether they were cruelty free or not. Then it makes it easier when buying from their website!

I've marked where cruelty free brands are 100% vegan but most of the cruelty free brands do stock a range of vegan products.

So Too Faced is a brand that I've only ever owned one product from, but to be honest, I have no idea why as all their products look absolutely amaaaaazing - I have been lusting over nearly everything from the sweet peach collection and I've seen soo many amazing reviews about it!

So seeing as I recently made a beauty wish list on my phone of things I want to buy when I get that beautiful student loan, I thought i'd do one specifically for Too Faced for this blog.

Sweet Peach Palette:

Oh my gooooodness look how beaut this palette is. The colours all look so pretty and wearable. I can think of so many pretty looks to do hence why this is on my wish list! (Also, I've heard all the products from this collection smell like peach, how amazing!?)

Chocolate Bar Palette:

I like the look of this palette because of its smoky, natural tones. I feel like this would probably be better for day time, simple looks however there are a few dark colours in there for a smoky night time look. You can never have too many brown palettes!

Sweet Peach Glow:

HOLY, this glow kit looks SO good! I honestly can't wait to buy this just because it looks SUPER pretty. I feel that all these tones would be perfect for Spring/Summer. Also, look at that glorious packaging!

Love Flush Blusher:

Firstly, this packaging is BEAUT! It reminds me of Polly Pockets, I used to love them so much when I was little. But yeah, besides from the brilliant packaging, the colour and imprint looks so pretty and natural so I'm excited to try this!

Soleil Matte Bronzer:

What can I say about this other than the beautiful colour. I love the fact that Too Faced is cruelty free and I'm always on the hunt for a decent bronzer, purely because it's something I use daily for contour. I am quite fair skinned, so I think this colour looks like it could give me the perfect bronzed look without being too much.

Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush:

I haven't really got many good blushers, this one looks beyond beautiful. The heart shaped packaging is SO cute, and I have seen these in real life and the amount of product you get it fantastic. I love the 3 tones in it, that peachy pink look is super pretty.

Melted Chocolate Liquefied Lipstick:

I'm ALWAYS hunting for new lipsticks and this one is always being used on Instagram and it looks so nice and moisturising. The packaging looks simple and the colour looks PERFECT!

Better Than Sex Mascara:

There's not much I can say about this other than how many amaaaazing reviews it's received. I always change my mascara every time I need a new one and so far, I haven't been blown away by any of the cruelty free ones I've tried, I'm hoping this will be my new holy grail!

Sweet Peach Creamy Lip Oil:

Soooo how beautiful are all these shades?! I love the packaging and I'm looking to try something different to my usual liquid lip. I think this formula will be perfect for Spring/Summer and I'm super excited to try these! Also, if they smell like Peach that will be a bonus!
